The training a person receives at TSE is based upon their interests and needs. TSE utilizes a curriculum, which are sequential and ability-based activities aligned to one’s interests and needs. As person’s skills grow, the curriculum identifies future activities, which challenge them to reach higher levels of achievement.

TSE staff will first assess each person’s skills in the following areas:

  • Employment
  • Community participation
  • Interpersonal communication including self-advocacy
  • Health
  • Recreation/leisure
  • Daily living

A person’s Interdisciplinary Team will use the results of this assessment to determine the specific areas of training to be provided by TSE. The curriculum will be used to establish the initial level of training activities.
