Who
does TSE serve?
TSE serves individuals 21 years
of age and older who are diagnosed with a developmental disability
or related condition; in some circumstances, individuals age 18 or
older are eligible for services. TSE is also licensed to serve individuals
under the CADI and TBI waivers.
What
geographical area does TSE serve?
TSE primarily serves individuals
living in Ramsey County.
How
does a person begin receiving TSE’s services?
A county case manager will
refer a person for services with TSE.
Is
there a cost for service?
There is no cost for service
when a county case manager refers someone. Transportation is provided
at no cost as well.
What services are available at TSE?
The services people receive
are based upon their stated interests and needs. For some it may be
in house production work and for others it may be a community job.
In addition, people may desire training in other areas such as learning
to use public transportation, learning to use community services or
learning other skills leading to greater independence. TSE utilizes
a curriculum-based approach to identify
and provide appropriate services for individuals.
What
if I don't want center-based services?
A
person seeking community-based employment may not interested in receiving
interim services at one of TSE's service sites. In this case,
job development will proceed as usual, except that TSE marketing staff
will meet with the person on an individual basis, to determine job
needs and interests. Partnership with the Division of Rehabilitation
Services may be explored to support job development efforts.
How
does TSE work with community businesses?
TSE works with businesses to
meet their needs for employees. This may take the form of work TSE
can do for a business within one of TSE’s service sites. Assembly,
packaging and mailings are examples of jobs TSE workers are able to
complete for a business. TSE has a workforce of over 100 individuals
that can complete jobs of virtually any size.
TSE
seeks community jobs for people in wide variety of areas. TSE is currently
working with approximately 60 companies
throughout Ramsey County. Ongoing jobsite support is provided by a
TSE professional to ensure a person’s success.
What
is the professional background of TSE employees?
TSE hires employees with educational
backgrounds and professional experiences related to the responsibilities
of their position. Approximately 50% of employees have a four-year
college degree or higher, with an average of several years of experience.
Staff receive ongoing training to continually enhance their knowledge
and skills. |
